The choir concert will be Friday morning, and we have our small Christmas party after lunch around 1:45.  I have a sign-up sheet for students to bring snacks.  They may bring a drink from home, or money to buy one from the snack machine.

Spelling-We will begin spelling homework this week.  The students will have an assignment with their words each day.
Monday-Write the words 5 times each.
Tuesday-  Use each word correctly in a detailed sentence.
Wednesday-Use the words correctly in a short story.  Underline the spelling words.

Read over the story each night.  This is nonfiction text, which means you really need to pay close attention to details in the story.  Review each night.  The reading and vocabulary test will be on Thursday.

We will complete lessons 1-6 this week and Monday of next week.  The open-book test will be completed on Tuesday, December 6th.

**This is reteach week, so there will be no reading story, spelling words, and vocabulary.

**We will complete daily DOL, and there will be a DOL test on Friday.

**We are still working on Chapter 2 in Social Studies, and are completing daily lessons in class.  We will be having a chapter quiz on Wednesday when the students will work in groups to complete the test.  It will be open-book, and they will be able to use notes from daily lessons.
They will also have an opportunity to complete a "small" in-class project for the chapter that will be worth a test grade as well.

**Please have your child read at least 20 minutes each night.  This is wonderful practice for their fluency.
