January 30-February 3

Reading-  "Nothing Ever Happens on 90th Street"  pgs. 442-455 The reading test will be on Thursday.  Read the story each night to prepare.

Vocabulary-  hiatus, embarked, unimaginable, extravagant, gourmet, throng, precarious
Vocabulary test will be on Thursday.  Be sure to review words and definitions each day.

Spelling- Spelling test will be on Friday.  Be sure to review each day.  Spelling homework for the week will be as follows: 
M-  Write each word 5x each.
T-  Use each word correctly in a sentence
Th-Write each word in cursive
**All spelling work will be stapled and turned in on Friday.

T-  Lesson 4 pgs. 286-289  Read and answer questions 2-7  on page 289.
W-  Students will complete the open-book test on Chapter 8.  pgs. 262-291
Th-F-  Students will complete their in class Chapter 8 project.

Friday-Math Blitz  After tests are completed, we will review math skills the rest of the day. 
Theme:  Out of this World Math-  Students will dress for outer space.

Students need to review these words nightly, and we will have vocabulary test on Thursday.

Spelling:  Students need to review nightly, and we will have the test on Friday.  Spelling homework due on Friday.

T-Write a descriptive paragraph about somewhere you have traveled using as many spelling words as possible.  Underline the words.

January 17-January 20

Reading:  This is review week, and we will be working in class reading skills. (compare and contrast, cause and effect, sequence, and using context clues)  There will be no reading story for this week.

Spelling:  There will be no new spelling words and test this week.

Vocabulary:  There will be no new vocabulary words and test this week.

Social Studies:  We will be finishing Chapter 7.  The open book test covering pages 228-257 will be on Wednesday.  They will work in class on a small project for Chapter 7 on Thursday and Friday. 


Graded papers will be sent home on Wednesday of this week.
